lalaland

After 8 days (holy shit it's been 8 days) in LA. I have uncovered a few mysteries (prob. only to me) about LA and well..life.
1. There is a very very very very fine line between micromangament and attention to detail. Some ppl would say they are the same thing. My boss says they are his 2 greatest virtues.

2. NEVER underestimate the value of having a GPS. And if you don't have one never underestimate the value of writing down directions to and from the place you are traveling.

3. If you get lost in LA don't hop on the highway assuming you'll recognize something familiar.

4. If you don't have friends in a new place--don't hesitate to tap your recources.

5. Just because your on the West coast, don't put money down that the water is warm.

6. A sign w/an arrow for parking but no a price = a sign for parking with a $14 price tag disguised as the parking attendant on the other side of the parking lot.

7. The lifeguards on the beach are hott. just like in the movies.

8. Ceiling fans may be tacky but they are essential to keeping your body at the perfect temp. at night in all states.

9. Just because you abbreviate most words with your friends, does not mean other ppl will get the abbreviations or think they're funny.

10. Finding celebrities is harder then it appears on Perez Hilton.

(imagine me singing/speaking goodbye to you)

thoughts of the weekend

1. Bridzeallas: There is no debate on the amount of class these women display(zero) yet I find myself completely enthralled when I hear "IM GONNA WHOOOP YO ASS" and "ITS MHY DAI 'N THANGS R GONNA GO MHY WAHY" from these young blushing brides with very questionable sanity.

2. Ive always appreciated the Kings of Leon, but now I have a new desire to see them live. This desire strongly coincides with the realization of how sexy they are. mmmmmmmmmmmm.........

3. Movies I want to see: 1) away we go 2) land of the lost 3) Bruno 4) Public Enemies (HELLO johnny depp and christian bale!) 5)Whatever Works (only because of the genius Larry David) 6) the Hangover.

4. I feel like I will be burned at the stake for saying this, but I must. Twilight, i wasn't impressed and I'm annoyed with its continued hype. bless you Andy samberg for feeling the same sentiment.

5. Re-watching Laguna Beach Season 1 (due to my need for noise and lack of cable) I realized what a douche bag Lauren Conrad is.

6. Summer is fantastic for so many reasons; the lake, being tan, no school/job (for those of us who tend to be mediocre in those areas), and watermelon!

CAKE BALLSSSSSSSSSS

These are the directions for cake ball making, but first you must know the rules:
1. Check the oven for any left over smells like garlic, asparagus, fish etc. so they don't mess with your cake.
2. If you are making cake balls for a party be sure to hide a few in a VERY secret place, otherwise party-goers will be selfish and eat them all.
3. Patience is the number one virtue of a cake ball baker.

Directions:
1. Bake a sheet cake, whatev flavor you like. Follow the directions on the box. ALWAYS grease the pan.
2. Let cake cool a long long time. Extra fast cooling techniques include taking cake from pan to bowl and setting in the frige.
3. Wait until cake is kinda warm....just make sure it won't melt icing.
4. Squish 1/4 to 1/3 of a tub of icing into the cake...add more if needed. You want the cake to stick together, no crumbles and not too mushy.
5. Roll cake/icing mix into balls that are smaller in size then a golf ball. Put balls on pans that can fit in a refrigerator.
6. Melt chocolate (chocolate bark is best, always buy more cholcolate then you think you will need).
7. Dip cake balls into chocolate with a fork. Completely cover in choc. and push the ball of the fork, back onto the sheet with another fork.
8. Let choc. harden on balls in the refrigerator.
9. Pick out the cake balls you want to hide. Hide them.
10. Eat. Make sure you have milk or water available before this entire undertaking.
